Barbara Lee Shockley, 75, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Born on April 9, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas, Barbara lived a life marked by dedication to her work and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that brought her happiness.
A graduate of McCloud High School, Barbara went on to build a career as a cook. Her time in the kitchen was more than just a job—it was an extension of her love for cooking and sharing meals with others. Whether preparing food professionally or at home, she found joy in nourishing those around her.
Barbara had a wide range of hobbies that reflected her creative and spirited nature. She enjoyed fishing and painting, finding peace and inspiration in both pursuits. She also loved sewing and ironing—activities that showcased her attention to detail and care for her surroundings. Dancing brought her great joy throughout her life, and she embraced every opportunity to move with rhythm and grace.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Delbert Wayne Shockley; sisters Sue Shockley Pierce, Lynn Shockley Pierce, and Ann Shockley. Barbara was preceded in death by her father Delbert Shockley and mother Lillie Shockley.
A memorial gathering to honor Barbara’s life will be held on April 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the residence located at 537 Durwood Rd, Ardmore, Oklahoma 73401.
