Ernie Lloyd Gilbert

Ernest Lloyd Gilbert Sr. was born on February 02, 1943 in Tishomingo, Ok. to the late Harrison Gilbert and Alyne Payne Gilbert. He passed from this life on December 17, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Ok. at the age of 70 years. Mr. Gilbert called the Ravia and Johnston County area his home all of his life. He graduated from Ravia High School. After graduating high school ernest served in the United States Air Force. He also worked for EW Moran in the oilfied industry. Mr. Gilbert was of the Christian Faith and was a member of the Ravia Church of God. Ernest was preceded in death by both of his parents and 1 son Trent Gilbert. He is survived by 2 sons Ernest Gilbert of Ravia, Ok., and Dion Gilbert of Oklahoma City. Ok., Ernest is also survived by 1 daughter Amy Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Ok., 1 brother Brad Gilbert of ravia, Ok., 3 sisters Daisy Benge of Ravia, Ok., Connie Stephens of Ravia, Ok., and Evelyn Nelson of Tishomingo, Ok. Ernest leaves behind 6 wonderful Grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Serving as Pallbearers will be Melton Hester, Mike Thayer, Dion Gilbert, Scott Eason, Kenny Lane and Dustin Graham. The family will greet friends on Thursday December 19, 2013 from 6:00pm ~ 07:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Friday December 20, 2013 at 02:00pm at the Ravia church of God with Rev. Len Gipson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ravia Cemetery with Military Honors by The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard.
