Andrew Leon Sides

Andrew Leon Sides, lovingly known as Andy, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, in Carrolton, Texas. Born on October 24, 1943, in Milburn, Oklahoma, Andy’s journey through life was one marked by hard work, kindness, and enduring love for his family and friends. Though his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of many, the ripples of his generosity and unwavering character will forever inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Andy grew up in the close-knit community of Milburn, where he attended Millburn High School. Early on, he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the land that would define much of his life. Taking pride in honest labor, Andy found his calling as a farm hand, dedicating countless hours to agriculture and the rhythms of nature. He approached every job—big or small—with tenacity and a quiet humility, earning the trust and admiration of his peers.

On March 3, 1986, in Neosho, Missouri, Andy exchanged vows with Maggie, beginning a partnership that would span 40 beautiful years. Together, they built a life rooted in mutual respect, unwavering devotion, and laughter—cherishing both the joys and challenges that came their way. Their union was a beacon of strength and love to those around them.

Andy was the embodiment of the phrase "good old boy"—an easy friend to all, never meeting a stranger, and always eager to lend a helping hand. His kind heart and genuine nature endeared him instantly to those who crossed his path. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes; his love was visible in every gesture, whether sharing a story at the kitchen table or helping a neighbor in need.

Family was central in Andy's life, and he cherished time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife Maggie; his sons Chad Sides and Leon Sides; his daughter Rebecca Betts; and his daughter-in-law Lorie Sides. Andy’s warmth and steadfast support shaped their lives in countless ways, leaving a legacy of love and encouragement.

He now joins in rest his father William Sides, mother Mary Sides, sisters Kathy, Jessie, and Rosie Sides, and brothers James and Frank Sides, all of whom held special places in his heart.

Andy also delighted in life’s simple pleasures, especially fishing, hunting, and traveling. He found peace in quiet moments by the water, thrill in the chase, and joy in discovering new places. His stories of outdoor adventures, always recounted with a twinkle in his eye, will be fondly remembered.

In these tender moments of remembrance, Andy’s family finds comfort believing he is in the presence of his Savior and free from pain. While the world feels a bit quieter in his absence, memories of his steadfast spirit and gentle love will remain a source of strength and warmth for those who mourn him.
