Betty Jean Ogle

Betty Jean Ogle, age 98, of Tishomigo, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025 in Calera Oklahoma. Born on July 25, 1927 in Russet, Oklahoma, Betty was a remarkable individual whose vibrant spirit and beautiful heart touched all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Betty dedicated many years to working as a waitress, but most of her time was devoted to being a loving stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She created a warm and nurturing environment for her family, and her devotion was evident in everything she did. Betty enjoyed spending her days sewing, gardening, and cooking, always eager to the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She had a particular fondness for canning the farm-fresh vegetables from her beloved garden, a cherished activity that her grandsons held dear. The warm memories of those days spent together will forever remain in their hearts.

Her sense of humor was infectious, bringing joy and laughter to her family gatherings. She often reminisced about a delightful mishap in her older years when she once mistakenly put salt instead of sugar in a homemade dessert, creating a memory that her loved ones would recount with laughter for years to come.

Betty is remembered not only for her kindness and nurturing nature but also for her proudest accomplishment: her black convertible Ford Mustang, which still sits in the shop, a lasting symbol of her vibrant character and zest for life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emmett Davis Jr., her second husband, Sammie Ogle, her daughter, Deborah Davis, and her granddaughter, Jenifer West, as well as one brother and two sisters. Their memories live on in the stories shared by Betty’s family.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Judy Rose McCarthick, and her husband, Alvin of Plainview; her grandsons, John West and James West, both of Tishomingo, and Casey McCarthick of Plainview; along with her granddaughter, Kelly McCarthick of Plainview. Each of them will carry on her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.

A graveside service will be held in Betty's honor on September 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Betty Jean Ogle's spirit will forever shine in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding them of the joy, love, and warmth she brought into their lives.
