Betty Dolores Walton, born on October 15, 1958, in Oakland, California, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, Betty demonstrated remarkable resilience and an unwavering spirit, qualities deeply ingrained in her from an early age. She attended Coleman Public Schools, establishing a foundation for both her education and her future endeavors. She married Roger Walton March 5,1975 and they spent twenty four happy years together until he passed.
Betty dedicated many years of her career to Sundowner Trailers in Coleman, where she rose through the ranks to become a lead in the management division. Her professional journey continued with a significant tenure at Subway in Tishomingo, where her work ethic and dedication won her the admiration of colleagues and patrons alike.
In addition to her professional achievements, Betty was known for her vibrant personality, marked by her stubbornness and determination. She was often described as hard-headed but also as a nurturing figure, embracing the role of a mother to many. Her generosity and kindness shone through her relationships with family and friends, who cherished her vivacious spirit. Betty had a profound love for music, particularly old-style rock and roll, and enjoyed dancing, camping, traveling, and floating the river. She found joy in the company of friends and family, treasured memories of dancing and outings to the lake with loved ones.
Betty's proudest accomplishments included celebrating the lives of her granddaughters, Piper Walton, Shalin Russell, and Hunter Russell, as well as her grandsons, Devan Walton, Lakota Russell, and Silas Russell. She treasured her role of great-grandmother to Lakelyn Russell and Kaidan Russell, finding immense joy in their lives. Betty's family was her greatest pride, and she embraced each moment spent with them.
She is survived by her son, Ross Walton, and daughter, Stacey Walton; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty also leaves behind three siblings; Elana Shultz of Olympia, Washington; Kelly Boyd of Roseville, California; Joey Miglietta of Arlington, Texas and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with great affection. Betty also leaves behind numerous friends and was a mother figure to many throughout her journey in life.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Miglietta, her mother, Lillie Norris; her husband, Roger Lee Walton; siblings, Doris Gentry; Norma Mosley; Richard Mosley; Johnny Mosley; Mario Miglietta; Eddie Miglietta and her grandchild, Christine Walton. Though she faced challenges, Betty’s indomitable spirit and love for life will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Viewing services will be held at Hartwell Funeral Home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, on February 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Burial will take place on February 16, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church, beginning at 10:00 AM.
Betty Dolores Walton’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her, as they celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
