Born on June 10, 1937, in Halston, Kansas, Mr. Krehbiel led a life marked by hard work, faith, and commitment to those he loved.
Mr. Krehbiel graduated from high school in 1955 and pursued some college education thereafter. His professional life was devoted primarily to carpentry, a trade he practiced with skill and dedication throughout his career. Additionally, he worked in electrical and plumbing trades, underscoring his versatility and craftsmanship. Later in life, Charles embraced farming, moving to Milburn, Oklahoma with the vision of cultivating his land and managing his ranch with careful stewardship. Noted for his resourcefulness, he stretched every penny to ensure the success and sustainability of his farming endeavors.
Beyond his work, Charles Krehbiel was a man of Christian faith who found joy in simpler pleasures such as feeding birds, playing the guitar, and singing. These interests enriched his personal life and offered him comfort and connection with his loved ones.
On February 14, 1985, Charles married Dawn Gaylord in Sonora County, California. While Dawn preceded him in death, passing before him, his legacy is carried on through his children and extended family. He is survived by his son Glen Krehbiel and wife Andria of Escondido, California; daughter Wanda Holden and husband Henry of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter Tina Brooks and husband Everett of Lower Lake, California; son Gary Krehbiel and wife Deanna of Oakley, California; and brother Ernest Krehbiel and wife Judy of Moundridge Kansas. Charles’s family circle also includes several grandchildren: Timothy Krehbiel, Barry Brooks, Katherine Brooks, Henry Holden, Joshua Holden, John Janey, Jeremy Brooks, Michael Brooks, Jason Huyssoon, Jackson Krehbiel, Bailey Bonnet, and Michael Krehbiel. His great-grandchildren—Daniella Pineda, Diego Pineda, Stella Janey, Lucas Holden, Leighton Holden, and Karlee Jo Brooks—and one more grandson on the way also carry forward his family’s lineage and spirit.
Mr. Krehbiel took great pride in his children and grandchildren, considering them among his proudest accomplishments. His enduring values, work ethic, and faith have left a lasting imprint on those who knew him.
Charles Krehbiel’s funeral and burial services are scheduled for April 30, 2026, with ceremonies held at the Krehbiel Private Cemetery located at 4795 OK Hwy 78E, Milburn, Oklahoma 73450. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at 12:00 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Matilda Krehbiel; his wife, Dawn Krehbiel; brothers Jake and Maynard; sisters Violet and Virginia; and great-granddaughter Rowyn Holden.
Charles Krehbiel will be remembered as a great man — one who devoted himself to his family, his faith, and his work. His legacy continues through the lives of his descendants and the communities he touched.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hartwell Funeral Home for their assistance during this difficult time.
