Clifford Earl "Bub" Leonard, born on January 20, 1956, in the quaint town of Cleburne, Texas, transitioned from this world on June 21, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His passing came peacefully in a nursing home, where he left this life as he lived it—with a spirit that resonated joy and a heart full of laughter.
Bub was not just a welder by trade; he was an artisan of humor, a playful jokester whose laughter echoed through the hearts of all fortunate enough to cross his path. Whether wielding a welder's torch or sharing a chuckle, he infused pride and warmth into his craft and his community. His joyful demeanor made every gathering brighter, and his knack for storytelling—sharp and endearing—was a skill refined over years of sharing cherished moments with family and friends.
Life's beauty, for Bub, blossomed in the great outdoors. He reveled in the freedom that came with riding four-wheelers, embracing the thrill of nature’s embrace with enthusiastic vigor. Yet, it is a curious contrast that the man who found such joy in the vast open spaces held a deep-seated fear of water; perhaps it was a reflection of life's unpredictable currents, which he navigated with resilience and a smile.
Bub leaves behind a tapestry of family and friends who will cherish his memory. His niece, Melissa Davis, along with her husband Mark, together with many nieces and nephews, will carry forward tales of his humor and strength. They will hold close the laughter shared and the lessons learned under the vast Oklahoma skies.
On the other side, waiting to greet him are beloved family members, including his brother Brodie Leonard, David Wilson, and James Leonard; his sisters Virginia Payton, Wilma Dick, Ellen Jolly, and Dessie Leonard; along with his son, Jeffrey Leonard. Their stories intertwine with his, creating a rich narrative of love, loss, and laughter that defines the beautiful chaos of family.
Though Bub has embarked on his final journey, his essence will remain anchored in the hearts of those who knew him—an everlasting spirit worth celebrating. In every burst of laughter that fills a room and each adventurous ride within the great outdoors, his legacy continues to inspire.
Bub's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May his legacy bring comfort and peace to those he leaves behind.
