Connie Gail Hankins

Connie Gail Hankins of Tishomingo was born on March 04, 1956 in Sacramento, CA to Harold Pierce and Mary Caviness Pierce. Connie passed away on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 55 years, 4 months, and 10 days. Ms. Hankins resided in the Sacramento area until 1982 when she moved to Johnston County where she lived the remainder of her life. Connie was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Bullard Chapel Baptist Church in Tishomingo. Ms. Hankins was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, bird watching, and spending time with her family. She also was a wonderful artist and enjoyed to paint and was very good at everything she painted. Connie also enjoyed writing poetry and was a member of the National Poetry Association and got several of her poems published in prestigious poetry books. Connie was a wonderful volunteer in the community and would fill in at people's job when they would call in. She married Tom Hankins on April 29, 1982 in Tishomingo, he precedes her in death, along with her mother, Mary Caviness Pierce and 2 of her sisters. She is survived by her father Harold Pierce and her son, Thomas Hankins of Tishomingo and daughter Julie Miranda of Tishomingo. She is also survived by a host of many other family and friends. Memorial services will held on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 2 O'clock pm in the Tishomingo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Hartwell officiating.
