Eunice Glidewell Current Services Eunice Anne Glidewell, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024 at the age of 80 years, in Gainesville, Texas. Born on March 13, 1944, in Tucson, Arizona, she was a cherished member of her community and a devoted servant in her role as City treasurer for the town of Mannsville for many years.
Eunice's life was marked by her deep devotion to her family and her faith. She was always comforted by her Church of Christ faith. Her marriage to Garry Glidewell on February 3, 1968, was a testament to enduring love, lasting 54 years until Garry's passing.
She is survived by her sons, Chan Glidewell of Ardmore, Nick Rae of Muskogee, and Ross Rae of Tulsa; grandchildren Duncan, Kaden, Karianne, Kenon, Kane, Koley, Brandi, Baylee, Chance, and Landry Lane; great-grandchildren June, Charlotte, Cooper, Camille Rose, and Calliope; brother Kenon Chaney; Best friend Tonya Dorer; and a host of family and friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Garry Glidewell, father Floyd Chaney, mother Vera Holland, and brother Brad Chaney.
Eunice's passions extended beyond her family and faith. She had a profound love for Mexican cuisine and cherished her cats. Her hobbies included latch hook and jigsaw puzzles, and she spent many hours as a devoted Cub Scout den mother. Eunice also enjoyed driving through the country back roads, listening to Elvis Presley, and watching the changing weather.
Visitation for Eunice will be held on Thursday from 12 PM to 1 PM, followed by services at 2 PM at the Hartwell Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held in the Kress Cemetery on Friday at 2 pm in Kress, Tx. Eunice's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as a pillar of strength, love, and compassion in her community.
