Evelyn McGill Current Services Evelyn Helen McGill passed from this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the age of 85 years at her home in Tishomingo. She was born September 7, 1936 to the late Richard McGill and Mary (Gilroy) McGill in Glascow, Scotland. When Evelyn was sixteen, she and her family immigrated to the United States to make a better life for themselves. They soon made Florida their home. Evelyn lived in Florida until her declining health forced her to move to Tishomingo to live with her daughter, Heather. Evelyn loved fishing and soon realized that Johnston County was a great place to find fishing spots. Not only did she love fishing, she just loved nature and being outdoors. Coming from Scotland to the United States, she brought her love of music and dance with her. Evelyn was an amazing woman and will be dearly missed. She made many friends throughout her life and those who met her were truly blessed to have known such an amazing person. Evelyn enjoyed giving her daughter, Heather a hard time. But don't think for a minute that Heather didn't give it right back to her. They had a close bond with each other, one that will never be forgotten. Evelyn was preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, John McGill and Richard McGill; sister, Patricia McAdam; grandson, Christopher Lowman She is survived by, daughter, Heather Martinelli and Richie of Tishomingo; grandchildren, Taylor Lowman, Jeremy Lowman, and Dustin Smith; Great-Grandchild, Bailey Calhoun.
