Geneva Carr

Geneva Ann Carr of Tishomingo was born on March 01, 1937 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to William "Jack" Martin and Winona Jewel Lovett Martin. She passed from this life on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 77 years. Ms. Carr moved to Johnston County in 1970 where she lived the rest of her life and worked for the city of Tishomingo as the City Clerk for over 35 years. Geneva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Geneva married Buck Carr on November 30, 1957 in Vernon, Texas he preceded her in death in 1995. Ms. Carr was also preceded in death by both of her parents Jack Martin and Jewel Martin, one brother Arthur Lee Martin and one grandchild Jamie Rienhart. She is survived by her three daughters Deborah Lee Cartisano of Sandy, UT, Linda Jo Dawson and husband Robert of Tishomingo, OK and Patricia Ann Rienhart of Tishomingo, OK and one sister Joleta Fay Kosechata of Lewisville, TX. Ms. Carr also leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren Misty Parr, Jennifer Sparlin, Jessica Jankas, David Cartisano, Catherine Cartisano and Daniel Cartisano and 6 Great-Grandchildren, Bayli Hightower, Andrew Hightower, Jacob Jankas, Jaylee Jankas, Jaxon Hightower and Jack Sparlin. Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday April 26, 2014 at the United Church of Tishomingo with George Bland officiating. Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be David Cartsano, Daniel Cartisano, David Parr, Andrew Hightower, Jay Jackson, and Robert Dawson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Rowe, Bobby Stevens, Stephen Cartisano, Jason Sparlin. Visitation will be from 6pm ~ 8pm on Friday April 25, 2014 at the funeral home 705 North Kemp.
