Hope Hatmaker

Hope Hatmaker, a beloved homemaker and vibrant spirit, passed peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, at the age of 93. Born on February 20, 1932, in Sheffield, Texas, she lit up the lives of everyone around her with her sweet demeanor and incredible energy.

Hope's life was characterized by a unique blend of warmth and resilience. She was often described as a tiny whirlwind of action who bore the burdens of life with grace and strength. Not only was she a devoted mother and homemaker, but she also took on the responsibility of caring for livestock while her husband, RJ "Pete" Hatmaker, worked hard to provide for their family. Hope's nurturing nature extended beyond her household; she was a lady in every sense, dedicated to her family and her community.

Among her many talents, Hope took pride in her dancing, which brought joy not only to her but to her two younger daughters and their friends, creating cherished memories that will be retained in the hearts of those who loved her. She also had a flair for creativity, engaging in seamstress work, crochet, and knitting, crafting beautiful pieces that embodied her loving spirit. Her ability to dance with grace and skill, and her meticulous craftsmanship, were among her proudest accomplishments.

Hope will be deeply missed by her family, including her daughters: Patsy Jackson and husband Wayne of Odessa, Texas, Alice McGuinnes and husband Jimmy of Luna, New Mexico, Edna King and husband John of Milburn, Oklahoma, and daughter Kathy Fowler of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her sister, Dora White of Odessa, Texas, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of her legacy, forever influenced by her love and dedication.

Hope is now reunited with her deceased family members, including her father, Jose Sanchez, her mother, Florinda Sanchez, her husband RJ "Pete" Hatmaker, as well as one sister and two brothers who have been lovingly welcomed into her embrace.

A woman of faith and kindness, Hope Hatmaker will forever remain in the hearts and memories of all who knew her. Her spirit, much like her dance, was free and joyful, leaving a lasting impact on everyone in her life. As we mourn the loss of such a cherished soul, we hold dear the countless memories shared and the love she cultivated throughout her remarkable life.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hartwell Funeral Home for their assistance during this difficult time.
