Jackie Leona Skaggs

Jackie Leona Skaggs , age 90, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Durant, Oklahoma. Born on May 8, 1935, in Milburn, Oklahoma, Jackie lived a long and meaningful life rooted in love, faith, and family.

A devoted wife and mother, Jackie dedicated her life to her home and the care of her family. She was a stay-at-home wife and the loving mom of two daughters, Alvanna Skaggs of Bowie, Texas, and Sheena Mitchell and husband Rusty of Euless, Texas. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandsons, Rick Mitchell of Keller, Texas, and Ross Mitchell and wife Rebecca of Oakland, California and grand daughter Nola Haynie and husband Joey of Euless, Tx. Jackie also shared a close bond with her sister Freda Black of Enid, Oklahoma, and was cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Skaggs; her parents; eleven siblings; and other dear family members whose memories she carried with her throughout her life.

A woman of deep Christian faith and a member of the Baptist tradition, Jackie found strength and comfort in her beliefs. Her love for nature was evident in the joy she found tending to her garden and observing wildlife—especially crows and squirrels—which brought her quiet delight.

Jackie's legacy lives on through the lives she touched with kindness and care. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
