J.D. Woodruff

J.D. Woodruff Current Services J.D. Woodruff of Mannsville, OK passed away on January 24, 2019, at his home at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 19 days. J.D. was born on June 05, 1931 in Burneyville, OK to the late G.M. and Ada (Brown) Woodruff. At age 12 J.D. moved to Mannsville where attended and graduated from Mannsville High School. At age 15, J.D. began farming on the family farm. J.D. also worked as a mail carrier for 43 years until his retirement in 2007. During his lifetime of farming, J.D. raised, watermelons, strawberries, pumpkins, and other fruits and vegetables. On December 27, 1952, J.D. married Chris Thomas, a union that would last 66 years. J.D. is survived by: Wife: Chris Woodruff of the home Daughter: Tommie Woodruff of Mannsville, OK Son: John David Woodruff of Mannsville, OK Sisters: Genova Davis of San Antonio, TX Maureen Kiser of Oklahoma City, OK Granddaughters: Lisa Allen Johnna Roblin and husband TJaden Jana Vaughn and husband J.D Grandsons: Jeremiah Woodruff Torin Gunsolus Hunter Gunsolus Ransom Gunsolus Baylor Gunsolus Great Grandchildren: River Edwards Elijah Woodruff Timber Roblin Ember Vaughn Cedar Vaughn Layken Gunsolus Cotton Gunsolus David Bumpass Cheyenne Bumpass Archie Bumpass J.D. is also survived by numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and host of other family members and friends. Graveside services to honor J.D.s life will be held on Monday, January 28 at 10 am in the Nelda Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home.
