Jo Lee Wilson, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on May 2, 1947 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Jo Lee dedicated her life to family, faith, and her profession as a compassionate nurse.
Jo Lee spent most of her formative years in Fox, Oklahoma. She graduated from Madill High School in 1965. Early in her career, she was a beautician and owned her own successful beauty shop in Pauls Valley. Her dream was always to be a nurse; she later pursued that dream while raising a teenager and a baby. Jo Lee finished her nursing degree in the early 1980's while raising her children. During her career, she worked in many fields of nursing. She then found her favorite in the later years, working in home health and specializing in wound care until she retired. Demonstrating her relentless dedication and hardworking spirit. Her selflessness and genuine care for others made her a standout in her profession. Jo Lee's true calling in life was being a Nurse.
Jo Lee's love for her family was unparalleled. She found great joy in her role as a mother to her daughter, Leah Berry, and husband Dale of Charleston, Arkansas, and her son HR Kunze and wife Laura of Sulphur, Oklahoma. The pride she felt for her grandchildren—Annabelle Kunze of Sulphur, Frances Kunze of Pauls Valley, Gracie Berry and Pyper Berry of Charleston—and great-grandchildren—Carter, Jaida, Owen, Josephine, Rowen, and one on the way is the light of her whole world—was evident to all who knew her. Family and God were at the forefront of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with loved ones, filling their lives with laughter and warmth.
Known for her loving nature and endearing personality, Jo Lee possessed an incredible ability to make those around her smile. Her devotion to her faith as a prayer warrior further defined her character, reflecting her strong faith in God, and her love for her family. The memories created with her family were of utmost importance, and she will undeniably be missed by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
Jo Lee was preceded in death by her father Harry Cheadle, her mother Mary Cheadle, her sister Harita Grimplin, and her beloved grandson Lemuel. Their memories will forever hold a special place alongside her own as her family gathers to honor her legacy.
A graveside service will be held on December 10, 2025, at Tishomingo Cemetery in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where Jo Lee will be laid to rest. As we celebrate the life of this remarkable woman, we remember her unwavering spirit, her countless sacrifices, and her endless capacity to love unconditionally. Jo Lee Wilson has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and friends.
