Laverne Lehr

Funeral services will be held on Friday November 07, 2014 at the First Baptist Church Mannsville with Reverend Kevin Russell officiating and Reverend John Hatfield and Reverend Roy Ed Vinson assisting. Interment will follow in the Mannsville Cemetery. Mrs. Lehr was born on November 20, 1927 in Clyde, Texas to the late James Walter Williams and Mattie Leler Walker Williams. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 03, 2014 at the Mercy Hospital in Tishomingo at the age of 86 years. Laverne resided in the Mannsville comminity for the last 38 years. She moved there from the Kingston and Soldier Creek area. She attended high school in Gustine, Texas and later went on and graduated college at Baylor University in Dallas in December of 1950 as a LPN. She worked at several hospitals including Johnston County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lehr had many wonderful attributes about her, too many to list, but some are, she was a great volunteer at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore for many years, a faithful pastor's wife, faithful Sunday school teacher, very active in the church, she enjoyed making notepads for people in the community. She also worked in many hospitals in Texas and in Oklahoma helping & serving other people, doing just what Mrs. Lehr done best. Mrs. Lehr married W.E. "Bill" Lehr in 1955 in Commanche, Texas and she stood by his side as a faithful pastor's wife throughout his ministry. Bro. Lehr became pastor of First Baptist Church of Mannsville in 1964 where Mrs. Lehr was currently a member. Bro. Lehr preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Lehr is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by 3 sons, Donnie Lehr and wife Jennifer of Kingston, John Lehr & wife JoAnne of Durant, and W.E. Lehr III & wife Georgia of Marble Falls, Texas., 2 daughters LaRaye Kelly & husband Tyrone of Mullin, Texas, Mary Etta Diviness of Fort Worth, Texas., 1 sister, Oleta Johnson and numerous grandchildren and great-granchildren. Pallbearers for the service will be Ronnie Colbert, Roy Ed Vinson, Daniel Perry, Ricky Lehr, John Wright, Brian Carrol. Services under the direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home 705 N.
