Myrtle Briscoe

Myrtle Briscoe of Tishomingo passed away on Saturday June 24, 2017 at her home east of Tishomingo at the age of 91 years. Myrtle was born on July 18, 1925 in Boggy Depot to the late Henry Henson and Lilly Henson. Myrtle has been a resident of Johnston County her entire life. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years at the former Hillcrest Nursing Facility here in Tishomingo and also at the Brookside Nursing Home in Madill. Some of Myrtle's hobbies she enjoyed were fishing, hunting, going to auctions & garage sales. She loved to pick poke salad and wild onions. Myrtle also enjoyed collecting dolls. Myrtle leaves behind to cherish her memory: Sons: Jessie Briscoe of Cumberland Cove, OK Tommy Briscoe and wife Rita of Milburn, OK Robert Briscoe and wife May of Wichita Falls, TX Daughters: Darlene Davis and husband Herb of Tishomingo, OK Janie Cathy and husband Earl of Hayworth, OK Joyce Davis and husband Mike of El Paso, TX Sisters: Mary Alice Alexander Estell Regan Lou Ann Knight 19 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandkids Myrtle was preceded in death by: Husband: Brady Dee Richard Briscoe Sons: Ben Wayne Briscoe Dan Briscoe Frank Briscoe Henry Briscoe Parents: Henry and Lilly Henson Brothers: PeeWee Henson Henry Lee Henson Sister: Rosalee Johnson 3 Granddaughters and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services to honor her life will be held on Tuesday at 10am in the The Chapel at Tishomingo Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Armatige officiating. Interment will follow in the Tishomingo Cemetery. Serving as Casket Escorts will be Joshua Stewart, Casey Briscoe, Brady Briscoe, Allen Cathy, Mike Briscoe, and David Briscoe.
