Roselyn June Rago

Roselyn June Rago, lovingly known to her nieces and nephews as “Aunt Pugs,” passed peacefully at her residence in Madill, Oklahoma, on October 6, 2026. She was 95.

Born on December 12, 1930, in Junction City, Kansas, Roselyn was the daughter of George and Eula Cox. She attended Junction City High School and earned her high school degree, building a foundation for a life marked by steady work, practical skill, and care for others.

Roselyn worked at Anderson Leather Shop, where she served in sales and also as a seamstress. Her talents extended well beyond her work. She enjoyed arts and crafts and baking, and she shared those gifts generously with those around her. She was a 4-H cooking and sewing leader, and one of her proudest accomplishments was teaching young girls home economics skills through 4-H. Through that work, she offered not only instruction, but also encouragement, patience, and example.

She will be remembered for the warmth behind the nickname “Aunt Pugs,” a name that reflected the affection her family held for her. Her life was shaped by dedication to family, by the value of knowing how to make and mend, and by the quiet but lasting influence she had on younger generations.

Roselyn is survived by her son, John Rago, and by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Rago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Rago, and by her parents, George and Eula Cox.

Services will be announced by the family. Roselyn June Rago will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew her and by all whose lives were enriched by her kindness, guidance, and enduring example.
