Steven "Buff" Marshall, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Born on August 2, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, Buff’s life was a testament to warmth, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Graduating from NW High School in Justin, Texas, Buff carried the values and lessons from his early years throughout his lifetime. His career as a superintendent for Highland Builders of Dallas, Texas, and his work in Broken Arrow Construction and the construction business rooted him deeply in the communities he served. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, it was his heart—immense and generous—that defined him most profoundly.
Buff’s character sparkled brightest in his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him. It was his purpose, as many will fondly remember, to make you laugh, to lift spirits with his wit and humor, and to extend kindness without hesitation. Indeed, Buff would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need, embodying a spirit of generosity rare and true.
His passions extended beyond work and family life; he found great pleasure in raising cattle, following OU football, fishing, hunting, and golfing. These interests were not merely hobbies, but extensions of his vibrant personality and zest for life.
Buff’s proudest accomplishments were being a devoted father and a doting grandfather. He is lovingly survived by his wife Sharon Marshall, who stood steadfastly by his side; his sons Casey Burch and wife Brooke of Newark, Texas, and Colton Batterton and wife Caitlin of Newark, Texas; his daughter Lacey Burch of Milburn, Oklahoma; and his treasured grandchildren Avonlea, Warren, Leddy Jayne, Kenzie Layne, Aubrey Cheyenne, Taylynn Jean, Easton, and Whitley Briar. His family also includes his sister Rebecca Watson and husband Michael of Ada, Oklahoma, his brother Timothy Wayne Marshall and wife Kari of Savanna, Oklahoma, as well as an extended circle of loved ones including Aunt Oleta Knowles, Uncle Steven Knowles, and cousins Joel Knowles, Teresa Knowles, Kenneth Marshall, Kristy Collins, Joe Knowles, James Knowles, Torrie Hulsey, Lance Knowles, and even his beloved furbaby Millie.
Though his beloved father Clovis Marshall, mother Hazel Marshall, and nephew Ty Marshall have preceded him in death, Buff’s influence and spirit continue to live vibrantly in the hearts and stories of all who knew him.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 400 South Muldrow Street in Tishomingo, Oklahoma (73460), on March 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., concluding at noon. Those who attend will remember not just a man with a huge heart but also an individual whose laughter, love, and generosity left an indelible mark on the world.
Honorary pallbearers, including Jerry Krieg, Rocky Bobbit, Billy Bowen, Willy Burch, Troy Burch, Phillip Sewell, Troy Parrish, Roger Roberts, Raymond Farrel, and John Krieg, stand as a testament to the community Buff built and the friendships he nurtured.
Steven “Buff” Marshall’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and boundless generosity—a beacon to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hartwell Funeral Home for their assistance during this difficult time.
