Teresa Sue Smith

Teresa Sue, a beloved lady born on November 28, 1960, in Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was a vibrant personality who touched the lives of many with her loving, caring, and humorous nature, making friends easily and always being there for others in their times of need.

Throughout her life, Teresa embraced her role as a mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her children, James Smith of Tishomingo and Levi Smith of Milburn, as well as her daughter, Billiejean James, and her husband, Dalton, of Calera. Her grandson, Sebastian Williams of Calera, brought her immense joy, and he, along with her children, defined some of her proudest accomplishments.

Among her family, she is survived by her sister, Robin Lawton of Kansas City, Missouri, her sister Traci of Tishomingo, Oklahoma as well as six nieces and three nephews. Teresa shared a special bond with her brother-in-law, Glenn Barfield. In her home, she was lovingly accompanied by her cherished fur baby, Boomer, who provided companionship and comfort throughout her life.

Teresa was known for her adventurous spirit and was described as a "wild child," a testament to her lively personality and zest for life. Her contributions, both within her family and to her community, will not be forgotten.

A funeral service to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held at Hartwell Funeral Home in Tishomingo on December 13, 2025, beginning at 3:00 PM and concluding at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather together to honor her memory and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She is preceded in death by her husband, James, and her parents. Teresa Sue Smith will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
