Yetta Skidmore

Yetta Skidmore, 'Meme' , passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 64 in Sherman, Texas. Born on June 23, 1960, in Waco, Texas. She married Ray Skidmore on February 17, 1974 in Waco, Texas. Yetta embarked on a fulfilling career as a cosmetologist and hairdresser, later expanding her professional skills to include floral design. Her artistic talents were also expressed through her love of crafts, a hobby that brought joy to both her and those around her. Yetta is survived by a loving family: her husband, Ray Skidmore of Caddo, Oklahoma; sons, Ray Jr. and his wife Mindy of Cleburne, Texas, and Thomas Skidmore and his wife Karri of Lake Jackson, Texas; and daughter, Desty Boatright and her husband Rodney Caldwell. She also leaves behind her sister, Gretchen Castleberry of Houston, Texas; brothers, Franz and Hans Hyland of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Montana, Sierra, Bailey, Blayre, Colton, Tanna, and Zoie; and great-grandchildren, Emerson, Luke, Opal, Ryker, Jack, Max, and Dawson. Her sister in laws Bonnie, Carolyn and Fay. Yetta's life was enriched by her best friend of 45 years, Clara Billy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Katrina Hyland. A service to celebrate Yetta's life will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Minnie Hartwell Memorial Chapel at the Hartwell Funeral Home, which is assisting the family during this time.
