Joyce Amanda (Jones) Warden stepped into her heavenly home on
November 8th, 2023 at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 15 days.
Joyce was born December 24th, 1934 at home in Lone Grove,
Oklahoma to Samuel Thomas Jones and Ethel Bell (Holmes) Jones.
She grew up in Mannsville where she lived most of her life and
attended school.
Joyce was of the Southern Baptist faith and served at Mannsville First
Baptist Church for a number of years as a Sunday School teacher
and also helping with Vacation Bible School.
She loved the Lord and read her Bible everyday. As a proud mother
she loved to cook and was always willing to cook any of the fish or
game, no matter how small, that her children brought home. Joyce
would often cook dinners and take it out into the fields where
everyone was working.
She loved gardening and growing flowers, especially roses. At one
time she had 30 different rose bushes growing in her yard.
Quilting and sewing for others was also something she enjoyed. The
kids often wore clothing that she had made for them, including a coat
for her youngest son.
In 1951 she married Nolen C. Anderson, and together they farmed
and raised 5 children.
On September 9, 2003, she married Bill Warden and they made their
home in Ravia, Oklahoma. They attended church at Tishomingo First
Baptist Church for a number of years. Joyce remained in Ravia after
Bill's passing in 2019. In 2021, with her health declining, she moved
to Ardmore to be closer to family members. While living in Ardmore,
she attended Ardmore First Baptist Church where she made many
new friends in her Sunday School class.
Joyce was preceded in death by both parents; sons, Jack Anderson
and John Anderson; her husband, Bill Warden; brothers, Walter Sam
