Patricia Ann Pennington

Patricia Ann (Sawyer) Pennington, 67 passed from this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Ok.  She was born October 15, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Richard Carroll Sawyer and Dorothy Eleanor (Stewart) Sawyer.  Patricia was raised in Amarillo, Tx and later moved to Arkansas.  

On February 6, 1986, Patricia married Dorse Pennington.  This union lasted 30 years until his death in 2013.  The couple and their family moved to Johnston County in 1987 and made Tishomingo their home.  Patricia went to college where she received her Associate's degree and began working in the Registrar's office at Murray State College where she remained for 16 years.  

She enjoyed arts and crafts, piddling outdoors as she called it, gardening, and cooking.  She also enjoyed being a home maker when she could.  Spending time with her husband before he passed was always something Patricia enjoyed.  She loved knowledge and was always ready to learn something new.  Patricia was a kind, loving, and  generous person.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Husband Dorse Pennington, and son, Shelby Nelson.

Patricia is survived by son, Piper Pennington and family of Coweta, Ok; sisters, Debbie Sawyer of Amarillo, Tx, Carolyne Gollihugh of Amarillo, Tx,  Darlene Cole of Shattuck, Wi. and numerous other family members and friends.  

At Patricia's request, the family has chosen cremation and no services are scheduled at this time.
