Barbara "Pat" Carol Sides

Barbara "Pat" Sides of Tishomingo went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 4th, 2022  at Medical City McKinney, Texas at the age of 80 years. Pat was born March 31, 1942 in Overton, Texas to the late William Wright and Vera (Edwards) Wright. 

After graduating high school, Pat went on to college where she obtained a bachelors degree in education. Pat taught school for several years in Connerville, Oklahoma and Joy, Oklahoma. After leaving Joy Public Schools, Pat started teaching at Brazosport ISD in Freeport, Texas. 

On April 21, 1962 Pat married the love of her life, Melvin Sides in the Assembly of God in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. This union would last 60 wonderful years. Just 12 years after her marriage, Pat and Melvin moved to Tishomingo where they lived until 1993 when they moved and made their home in Quintana, Texas where they lived until 2012. Pat and Melvin then moved back to Tishomingo where she lived the remainder of her life. 

Some of Pat's favorite things to do were, reading, sewing, swimming, and going to amusement parks. Pat also loved to travel, she once visited 14 states in just 14 days. Pat was adventurous and yet naive. Pat also worked hard providing for her family. Most of all Pat enjoyed being with her family and friends, even strangers. Pat was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Ravia Baptist Church in Ravia. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Melvin Sides; daughters, Vickie Pruitt and husband David and Renita Sides; Brother, Jerry Wright and wife Sue; Grandsons, Jeremy Pruitt and wife Sarah and Chad Pruitt. Pat is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, Jaxson, Jenna, Bailey, Jace, Brylan, Ryder, River, Easton, and Kynlee.  She leaves behind several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own children. Pat is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Bob Wright; 3 sisters, Verda Teafetiller, Sherry Watkins, and Frances Walton; 1 grandson, Jerry Len Sullivan.

Graveside services honoring her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in the Condon Grove Cemetery with Pat's former pastor, Reverend Roger Hartwell officiating.
